Climate Change imperatives and the Wars, hot and pending are closely intertwined,

The  conjunction of the UN Climate Ambition Summit and International  Day of Peace is compelling.

A2 Center of the City

 The Center of the City is a place to talk out important matters is a good tradition in local Democracy. 

      This is an opportunity to plant it more firmly and explore it in our Ann Arbor Area Commons.

Wednesday Sept 20: United Nations Climate Ambition Summit

The theme on Wednesday will connect with the United Nations Climate Ambition Summit being held in New  York. An opening question: What can be our highest Climate Ambitions for our Ann Arbor Area, including Ypsilanti, our elder sister city by a year.  Reports invited from local organizations and City programs.

Thusday Sept 21: International Day of Peace.

The  theme for Thursday will connect with  International Day of Peace. Considering Peace in Ann Arbor as well as Ukraine- Russia, China, Palestine, Yemen, Congo, Cuba… What are all the outstanding questions on the Peace Table... Report on efforts for a citizen initiated “World Peace Meeting” and a project for a “peace table in every school” helping create a culture of peace and non-violence for the children of the world.

Creating Community

The Commons is open for talk, discussion, and personal expressions, music and art.

Pot-luck picnic foods invited to share.

Feel free to bring and share your snack and drinks. Water can be shared on site.

Some talk and songs and dance from the stage by the Garden.

Entertainment will be citizen led. Everyone is invited to bring their talents to perform for fellow citizens.

Art opportunities and kid friendly.

If you are an artist, bring some of your creativity. We will bring chalk and supplies.

Chairs and tables will be all around for people to talk.

to talk and share ideas, with a few canopies including for the Peace Table.
